Areca vestiaria "Red Form"
NATURAL HABITAT- The vestiaria is from the northernmost province of the Sulawesi Island & neighboring Maluku Province in Indonesia. Was once considered a family member of the sealing wax palm, due to its bright color and location.
CHARACTERISTICSThe vestiaria is sought after for its bright crown shaft that can range from bright oranges to hues of red and yellow. The leaves are pinnate and dark green in color. The seeds also range in bright colors as they ripen, starting out in yellow, and fading into orange and red. It can be grown as singles or both large and small clusters. The large clusters are usually formed by the suckering or splitting trait that some vestiaria can exhibit. The vestiaria can also vary in the root formations, ranging from stilt root to no visible roots at all.
