NATURAL HABITAT- The Piccabean palm grows in the central and eastern forests of the Australian coast. They can be found growing in dense areas of the forests where they can be the dominant trees.
CHARACTERISTICSThe Piccabean palm is usually a solitary palm with a tall slender trunk. The trunk has noticeable leaf scars and is a light gray color. The palm can be grown in small clusters while in cultivation. The leaves are pinnate and full. The leaves tend to stay straight and not drop down past a vertical plain, making them great palms for landscaping.
TEMPERATURE ZONE- Can grow in zones 9-10-11
ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS The Piccabean palm likes a lot of water, and is not affected by flooding or poorly drained soil. They can stand either full sun or full shade. They enjoy a mix of both, but will grow quicker and greener under partial shade.
GROWING TIPS- Plant this palm around a sheltered area since it can be damaged by heavy winds. They do enjoy a nice mix of shade
